Mail Order IV Sterile Compounding Staff Pharmacist | Hilliard, Ohio

Job Description

Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Pharmacist experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

This pharmacist role offers an opportunity to work within a Long Term Care (LTC) and Mail Order pharmacy environment, supporting patient health through medication management and comprehensive pharmaceutical services. This position is a contract-to-hire arrangement with a duration of 26 weeks, featuring rotating shifts that cover extended hours to meet patient needs effectively.

Hilliard, OH

Schedule:

Monday to Friday, rotating 10-hour shifts:
- 6:30 am to 4:30 pm
- 9:00 am to 7:00 pm
- 11:00 am to 9:00 pm
- 1:00 pm to 11:00 pm every third weekend

Responsibilities:

Accurately accept and dispense prescription medications in compliance with legal standards.
Monitor medication compliance and identify potential over-usage or drug-related problems.
Maintain confidential patient records and ensure proper documentation in pharmacy files.
Advise patients regarding medication administration, side effects, potential reactions, and drug interactions.
Provide patient services such as smoking cessation counseling, blood pressure measurement, and cholesterol management.
Educate patients on the correct use and maintenance of medical devices including blood pressure monitors and glucose meters.
Compound medications for both external and internal use, preparing sterile solutions following strict protocols.
Supervise pharmacy staff including technicians and clerks to maintain efficient pharmacy operations.
Collaborate effectively with physicians, nurses, pharmacists, and pharmacy interns to support patient care.

Qualifications / Desired Experience:

Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree required.
Experience in Long Term Care (LTC) or Mail Order pharmacy settings is highly preferred.
Sterile compounding experience is an asset.
Must hold an active Ohio pharmacy license.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact with patients and multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
