Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Pharmacist experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A PharmD is needed to support a long-term care and mail order pharmacy environment. This contract-to-hire role involves rotating 10-hour shifts Monday through Friday, with coverage every third weekend (shift hours vary between early morning and late evening).
Location: Dublin, OH
Schedule:
- Monday-Friday, rotating 10-hour shifts (6:30am-4:30pm, 9am-7pm, 11am-9pm, 1pm-11pm)
- Every 3rd weekend required
- 26-week contract to direct hire
Responsibilities:
- Accept and accurately dispense prescription medications in compliance with laws and regulations
- Monitor patient medication compliance and identify over-usage patterns
- Ensure prescribed medications are appropriate and safe for patients
- Maintain confidential and precise patient and pharmacy records
- Counsel patients on medication usage, possible side effects, and storage
- Provide clinical consultations on prescriptions and OTC medications, including drug interactions
- Deliver patient services such as smoking cessation coaching, blood pressure monitoring, and cholesterol management
- Educate patients on medical device use (e.g., glucose meters, blood pressure monitors)
- Compound medications for internal or external use, including preparation of sterile solutions following established protocols
- Supervise pharmacy staff including technicians and clerks
- Manage pharmaceutical inventory and communicate drug-related concerns effectively with healthcare providers
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, pharmacy interns, and other healthcare practitioners
Qualifications:
- Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree required
- Experience in long-term care or mail order pharmacy preferred
- Sterile compounding experience is highly desirable
- Hold an active Ohio pharmacy license
