This opportunity is for a licensed Pharmacist with expertise in long-term care (LTC), mail order pharmacy, and sterile compounding, based in Columbus, OH. The role offers rotating shifts covering 6:30 AM to 11 PM, Monday through Friday, with every third weekend included, for a 26-week contract-to-hire position. This is an ideal setting for pharmacists seeking experience in diverse pharmacy environments including LTC and mail order operations.

Responsibilities include:

• Accepting and dispensing prescription medications accurately and efficiently.
• Monitoring patient medication compliance and detecting any over-usage.
• Ensuring all medications prescribed and dispensed comply with legal standards and are appropriate for patient needs.
• Maintaining confidential patient records and pharmacy documentation meticulously.
• Advising patients on medication use, possible reactions, and answering inquiries.
• Providing consultation on prescription and over-the-counter medications, including storage, dosage, side effects, and drug interactions.
• Delivering patient services such as smoking cessation programs, blood pressure monitoring, and cholesterol management.
• Educating patients on the proper use of medical devices like glucose meters and blood pressure monitors.
• Preparing sterile solutions and compounding medications for internal or external use in compliance with procedural standards.
• Supervising pharmacy staff including pharmacy technicians and clerks.
• Managing pharmaceutical and medical supply inventories appropriately.
• Collaborating with physicians, nurses, pharmacy interns, and other healthcare practitioners to address drug-related problems.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree required.
• Ohio pharmacy technician license required.
• Experience in long-term care or mail order pharmacy preferred.
• Sterile compounding experience highly desirable.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a healthcare team.

Schedule:

• Rotating 10-hour shifts Monday through Friday
• Shift hours: 6:30 AM – 4:30 PM, 9:00 AM – 7:00 PM, 11:00 AM – 9:00 PM, and 1:00 PM – 11:00 PM every third weekend
