Equipment Operator

Position OverviewUnder supervision, oversee, facilitate, process and maintain accurate records for the yard of scrap materials received and/or shipped within the yard. Responsibilities include monitoring material flow, ensuring proper documentation, and supporting compliance with safety and operational standards. The role also performs cashiering duties at the cash window and truck scale, including processing cash tickets and completing various clerical reports and administrative tasks required for daily operations.Key ResponsibilitiesVisually verify inbound/outbound vehicles on scale deck; enter weight in computer.Identifies different metals and sorts the various grades of according to specifications.Process payment of customers, verifying information is correct and material ticket for corresponding customer and price is correct.Sort completed checks, distribute original to customers and maintain copies and backup for filing.File appropriate paperwork to support scheduled payments to be made.Answering incoming calls; give directions, handle questions and/or direct to appropriate area/person.Support continuous improvement initiatives and monitor performance metrics, by managing and developing reports.Assist in training of other new administrative employees in transactions as requested.Assists with cleanup duties at the end of production.Adhere to all safety protocols and consistently wear required PPE.All other responsibilities and duties as assigned.Candidate ProfileIdeal candidates will demonstrate a proactive approach to work, a strong commitment to safety, and a willingness to learn and grow. A high school diploma or GED is preferred, and prior experience in metals or industrial operations is advantageous.
