Intermittent charge responsibilities may be required. Charge training and shadowing will be offered. Description: This is a 30-bed medical/surgical unit specializing in solid organ transplant and bariatric surgery. The typical patient population includes pre-op and post-op solid organ transplant patients, such as kidney, liver, and pancreas, as well as post-op bariatric surgery patients and other general medical/surgical patients. This unit has 12 available step-down beds. These beds are not dedicated or reserved and will be filled with medical/surgical patients when there are no step-down patients. While efforts will be made to ensure step-down patients are assigned to this unit's staff, assignments cannot be guaranteed. Travelers may have to care for step-down patients, so this should be considered when applying.
