Job Overview Maintenance Technician Dept. 07 – 3rd Shift – Heavener (20300175) – Responsible for operating, maintaining, and repairing machinery. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Makes sure that the machine is working properly. Adjusts product flow from the machine. Adjusts and checks equipment used for different products being run. Visually inspects and tests machinery and equipment. Listens for unusual sounds from machines or equipment to detect malfunction and discusses machine operation variations with supervisors or other maintenance workers to diagnose problem or repair machine. Dismantles defective equipment and installs new or repaired parts. Cleans and lubricates shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery. Installs and repairs electrical and electronic components of machinery and equipment. Keeps the equipment clean. Notifies management if there is a machine malfunction. Qualifications Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or GED; or one to three months related experience and/or training. Language Skills: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos; ability to write simple correspondence; ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees. Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals; ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one‑or‑two‑step instructions; ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables. Physical Demands Regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel; frequently required to reach with hands and arms and talk or hear; occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; must frequently lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. Work Environment Exposed to moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles; wet or humid conditions; extreme cold and vibration; occasionally exposed to high, precarious places; toxic or caustic chemicals; outside weather conditions; extreme heat and risk of electrical shock; noise level usually loud.
