Software Engineer - Avionics Systems

Software Engineer – Avionics Systems We are looking for a Software Engineer to conduct full‑lifecycle DO‑178 development and testing of a proprietary method for flexibly mapping avionics I/O to seamlessly integrate with various aircraft. The position involves defining software requirements based on system requirements and the ICD, implementing requirements using assembly‑language–like code, performing verification testing, and creating necessary DO‑178 certification artifacts. Required Skills Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or a related field 5+ years of experience in the DO‑178 software development life cycle Experience with assembly language / register‑based programming Familiarity with avionics I/O mapping Familiarity with A429 data bus communication Experience creating test cases and test procedures (TC/TPs) for DO‑178 verification of avionics software Experience with hardware/software integration Experience executing tests and analyzing test results to identify defects Familiarity with compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements for aerospace products Familiarity with C language programming Effective written and verbal communication skills Strong interpersonal skills Accountable and takes ownership of assigned tasks Self‑motivated and takes initiative to get things done Excellent problem‑solving and analytical skills Preferred Skills Familiarity with VectorCast Experience with ClearCase for software configuration management Experience with ClearQuest for change request processing Experience with DOORS for requirements capture Experience with aircraft surveillance equipment including TCAS, TAWS and mode‑S transponders Equal Employment Opportunity & Legal Requirements This position may require exposure to software, source code or technology that is subject to U.S. export control laws and regulations (i.e., International Traffic in Arms Regulations or the Export Administration Regulations).
