Intermediate Accountant

We are seeking a team member who is able to: Apply critical thinking related to financial reporting. Provide outstanding customer service to the multiple agency contacts we serve. Formulate an opinion independently. The salary indicated represents a base pay rate. If the individual selected or the position is eligible for a pay differential (e.g., shift, security, or years of service), it will be added to the total compensation in your paycheck. A pay differential does not raise your base pay. Prepare and analyze statewide financial reports, including but not limited to the Annual Comprehensive Financial Report, according to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Analyze and provide comments on the impact of proposed Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB) statements and their effect on the State-wide financial statements. Extract, analyze, and report on financial data retrieved from the statewide accounting system. Assist with the maintenance, review, analysis, and evaluation of the statewide accounting system. Provide customer service support to all State agency personnel regarding various accounting issues. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting. Experience in interpreting and applying GAAP. Knowledge of Governmental Accounting and GASB Standards. Knowledge of Microsoft Access and Excel. Knowledge of the statewide accounting system and data warehouse reports. Ability to prioritize workload to meet deadlines. Remain flexible, self-motivated, and work independently or as a member of a group with little supervision. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to maintain effective working relationships with others in the unit and agency customers.
