Are you an experienced Web Press Operator ready to take the lead?

APEX Placement and Consulting has partnered with an exciting company in  Taylor, MI looking to add a Web Head Pressman to their already amazing team.  Their primary responsibility will be to lead and operate a commercial web offset press to produce high-quality publications and other printed materials.  Keep reading for more details!

  What your day will look like:

• Lead press setup, makeready, registration, color control, ink/water balance, web tension, folder setup, and production runs.
• Operate the press efficiently while maintaining consistent print quality and minimizing waste and downtime.
• Direct, train, and support press crew members while maintaining safe and productive working conditions.
• Coordinate production priorities, quality standards, safety procedures, and effective shift handoffs.
• Troubleshoot and correct press, web-handling, drying, and folding issues to keep production running efficiently.
• Review job tickets and verify paper stock, job specifications, and production requirements before and during each run.
• Maintain accurate production records and documentation.
• Perform routine press maintenance and identify equipment issues requiring additional service or repair.

What we are looking for:

• Web offset press experience required
• Demonstrated experience operating and leading production on commercial web offset printing presses.
• Ability to set up, run, and bring jobs into proper color and registration with limited equipment-specific training.
• Experience operating a different make or model of web offset press is welcome; equipment-specific experience is not required.
• Ability to lead and train a press crew while maintaining production, quality, and safety standards.
• Strong understanding of commercial paper web offset printing processes, including ink/water balance, web tension, registration, drying, and folding.
