Position Summary

The Sous Chef supports the Executive Sous Chef in overseeing daily kitchen operations and ensuring the highest standards of food quality, consistency, and service. This individual will play a key leadership role in managing kitchen staff, executing events, and maintaining a positive team culture.

Essential Responsibilities

• Assist in managing daily kitchen operations

• Lead by example during food preparation, service, and special events

• Train, mentor, and supervise kitchen staff

• Ensure consistency in food quality, presentation, and portion control

• Maintain compliance with food safety, sanitation, and health department standards

• Assist with ordering, inventory management, and cost control initiatives

• Support the execution of banquets, weddings, golf tournaments, and special events

• Foster a positive, accountable, and team-oriented kitchen environment

Qualifications

• Previous Sous Chef experience preferred, or strong Lead Line Cook experience with demonstrated leadership ability

• Strong culinary fundamentals, knife skills, and cooking techniques

• Ability to lead, motivate, and support a team in a fast-paced environment

• Excellent organizational, communication, and time-management skills

• Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed

• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds

• Culinary degree preferred but not required; equivalent experience will be considered
