Registered Nurse (RN) - Progressive Care Unit

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Progressive Care Unit team. The ideal candidate will have critical care experience and be prepared to manage patients with various medical issues, including cardiac, respiratory, and renal conditions.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to adult and geriatric patients in the Progressive Care Unit.
• Manage patients requiring close supervision, including those on telemetry and intermediate care units.
• Perform pre/post cardiac catheterization procedures and manage related patient care.
• Administer and manage BiPAP and CPAP therapies, as well as breathing treatments.
• Conduct cardioversion and defibrillation as necessary.
• Utilize cooling and warming blankets to maintain patient temperature regulation.
• Obtain and interpret 12 Lead EKGs.
• Manage various medical devices, including epidural pumps, feeding tubes, PCA pumps, and wound vacs.
• Provide care for patients with drains, central lines, ports, and other vascular devices.
• Administer medications, including amiodarone and antiarrhythmics, as part of a comprehensive care plan.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in a critical care or progressive care setting.
• ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications are required.
• Ability to work effectively within a team and communicate clearly with healthcare professionals.
• Must have active compact license.

Staffing Ratios

• 1:3 patient ratio for Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) patients.
• 1:4 patient ratio for Telemetry patients.
