A rewarding opportunity is open for a contract Special Education Teacher to support a center-based classroom in a high school setting. This position will play a vital role in providing individualized education and support to students with developmental cognitive disabilities. Work on-site in a collaborative and supportive environment, developing your expertise and making a measurable difference from ASAP through the end of the 2026-2027 academic year.

Qualifications:

• Valid Minnesota Teaching Credential in Special Education: Developmental Cognitive Disabilities
• Experience teaching or supporting students with developmental or cognitive disabilities in a school environment preferred
• Ability to adapt lesson plans and learning materials to meet students’ diverse needs
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with students, caregivers, and staff
• Able to work exclusively on-site (fully in-person required)

Responsibilities:

• Lead instruction in a center-based classroom for students with developmental cognitive disabilities
• Create and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs); monitor and report on student progress
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive educational support
• Foster a positive, inclusive, and safe classroom atmosphere that encourages student growth
• Employ specialized instructional strategies and behavior management techniques
• Communicate regularly and effectively with parents/guardians and relevant school staff
