The Communications Specialist develops and delivers engaging internal communications that bring workplace culture to life and position Operations as a desirable place to work. This role supports internal communications across online and offline channels, partnering with teams to uncover compelling employee stories and showcase the impact of Operations within the broader ecosystem and communities served. The Communications Specialist plans and executes creative, data‑driven campaigns that promote benefits, volunteering, and employee experience programs, while maintaining clear, measurable outcomes. This position requires a hands‑on, adaptable professional who can navigate a complex organizational structure, influence diverse stakeholders, and manage multiple concurrent campaigns that support a Great Place to Work reputational pillar. Responsibilities Support internal communications through online and offline channels, ensuring messages are clear, engaging, and aligned with workplace culture goals. Engage with internal stakeholders to identify and develop stories that highlight Operations as a desirable workplace and employer of choice. Partner with cross‑functional teams to devise creative, multi‑channel communication strategies that showcase the impact of Operations within communities and the broader ecosystem. Develop and execute internal communications plans for new programs, policies, and organizational changes, ensuring employees understand the benefits and implications. Create and manage functional communication and engagement campaigns that support the Great Place to Work reputational pillar for Operations employees globally. Own storytelling, campaign narratives, engagement plans, and on‑site activations for benefits, community volunteering campaigns, and workplace change management initiatives. Produce playbooks, messaging documents, campaign plans, and other communication resources that can be scaled and reused across regions and teams. Plan, execute, and measure multiple concurrent internal communication campaigns with defined KPIs, such as engagement rates, participation metrics, and awareness lift. Craft high‑impact, engaging content—including copy, storytelling pieces, and campaign narratives—that drives employee engagement and participation. Support volunteering events by gathering information, creating promotional campaigns, and ensuring employees understand the community impact of their participation. Develop internal marketing‑style campaigns that make employees aware of benefits and connect those benefits to a compelling employee experience story. Create assets and tools for internal teams, including emails, intranet content, and other digital engagement materials, tailored for diverse employee groups. Support field‑based employees by designing communications that are accessible, relevant, and aligned with their day‑to‑day work environment. Tailor content for a dynamic employee population, including hourly and salaried employees, global and multilingual audiences, and culturally diverse groups. Collaborate closely with legal and compliance stakeholders to ensure communications are accurate, compliant, and appropriately positioned. Monitor emerging issues, update employees with timely information, and adjust communication plans as needed to address new topics or changes. Measure, maintain, and enhance the quality of outreach by analyzing campaign performance data and using insights to refine future communications. Generate new ideas and build scalable mechanisms for internal communications, maintaining a strong sense of accountability and focus on delivering excellent employee experiences. Balance multiple projects and campaigns at the same time, managing timelines, priorities, and sensitive topics across different initiatives. Contribute as part of a larger workplace culture team, supporting both ongoing needs and emerging topics while maintaining a fun, engaging approach to campaigns. Essential Skills 3–7 years of experience in internal communications, with a strong preference for candidates around 4–5 years who are highly skilled tacticians and executors. Proven experience supporting internal communications for large organizations with 10,000+ employees, demonstrating an understanding of the impact of communication missteps at scale. Demonstrated ability to plan, execute, and measure 3–5 concurrent internal communication campaigns with defined KPIs such as engagement rates, participation metrics, and awareness lift. Experience in stakeholder management, including regular collaboration with legal and compliance teams on messaging and approvals. Proven ability to tailor content for diverse, dynamic employee populations, including hourly and salaried employees, global audiences, multilingual groups, and culturally varied teams. Hands‑on experience with internal communication channels such as email and intranet platforms, including creating interactive and engaging content. Strong creative thinking and campaign management skills, with the ability to design fun, innovative campaigns rather than purely informational communications. Demonstrated capability to manage multiple projects and campaigns simultaneously, with strong time‑management and prioritization skills. Experience working with global or distributed workforce communications, including field‑based employees. Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, or a related field. Experience supporting benefits, culture, or employee experience programs through structured communication initiatives. Exposure to change communications or crisis communications, with the ability to adapt messaging in dynamic environments. Comfort operating in complex organizational structures and influencing stakeholders with competing priorities. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience designing campaigns that elevate benefits awareness beyond basic informational messages, encouraging employees to feel excited and proud of their benefits. Familiarity with digital engagement tools, including intranet platforms and campaign analytics dashboards, to monitor and optimize communication performance. Experience creating interactive internal campaigns, such as games, storytelling series, or event‑based promotions that encourage participation and learning. Ability to craft narratives that connect employee benefits, workplace culture, and broader organizational initiatives into cohesive, compelling stories. Comfort working on meaningful initiatives such as benefits awareness, employee engagement programs, and community impact or volunteering campaigns. Interest in blending storytelling, creativity, and strategic communication to shape how employees experience workplace culture at scale. Experience supporting dynamic, non‑corporate‑only audiences, including employees in operations or field environments, and understanding their unique communication needs. Appreciation for workplace culture initiatives and a desire to contribute to Great Place to Work–type reputational goals. Experience with event planning and on‑site activations that support internal campaigns and employee engagement. Ability to navigate and support large employee populations (well above 5,000 employees) and understand the implications of communications at scale. Preference for candidates with experience in fun, entertainment‑style communications rather than purely formal or government‑style communications.
