Job Description

As a Security Officer Armed Patrol Operations in Reston VA you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a leading tech location you will monitor and patrol assigned areas stay visible to help reduce security-related incidents and support access activities with professionalism and strong communication. What Youll Do:

Provide customer service to all visitors employees and/or contractors by carrying out security-related procedures site-specific policies and when appropriate emergency response activities at a technology-focused location.
Respond to incidents alarms and/or critical situations in a calm problem-solving manner documenting observations and communicating with site contacts and/or emergency personnel as needed.
Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout buildings parking areas and perimeter locations to help to deter unauthorized activity and report suspicious behavior hazards and/or policy violations.
Monitor access points verify credentials and support visitor and delivery processing in accordance with site protocols for restricted and/or sensitive areas.
Maintain readiness to operate assigned security-related equipment and authorized defensive tools following post orders and reporting requirements while supporting a professional on-site presence.

Minimum Requirements:

Have at least 1 year of armed security-related law enforcement and/or military experience.
Possess an armed guard card and/or license.
Be at least 21 years of age.
Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
As a condition of employment applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal state and local laws.
Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
As a condition of employment applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
A valid drivers license will be required for driving positions only.
