Position Information Position Title Lab Supervisor Requisition Number S02477P Position Category Staff Campus Location Weber State University - Ogden, UT Hours per week 40 Months per year 12 Pay Grade N27 FLSA Non-Exempt Job Summary/Basic Function The Lab Supervisor is responsible for providing operational support to the Open Student Computer Labs under Technology Support Services in the IT Department and reports to the Computer Labs Coordinator. Responsibilities will include administering the hiring process of all student employees for the Computer Labs and Student Technology Assistants (STAs) and supervising and training 50+ student employees within the Open Student Computer Labs. Maintain digital and verbal communication and support with student employees during regular operating hours ranging from 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. 7 days a week. Scheduling classroom for faculty and staff, support Coordinator to organize and facilitate a broad range of employee activities, events, professional development, and job training. Provide administrative and budgetary support and forecasts for Computer Lab operations and Technology Support Services department. Participate in IT Department committees and activities in addition to other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications Associate’s degree or equivalent 2 years of related experience that includes supervisory experience Experience with Google & Microsoft Office Suites, various social media platforms, and other basic computer software and hardware knowledge Preferred Qualifications Effective interpersonal skills, both verbal and written Experience with planning and organizing events Experience in training, supervising, and supporting student employees Task-oriented and ability to lead large group projects Proficiency in verbal and written communication Ability to think creatively and proactively to problem-solve and improve services Ability to work independently Budget and administrative experience Desire to learn and implement new technologies and services Must be adaptable to manage and prioritize multiple tasks and work in high energy service environment Background Check? The position comes with a generous benefits package . The annual salary for this position starts at $44,000 and may go up from there depending on candidate qualifications.
