Water/Wastewater - Project Manager

We are seeking an experienced Water/Wastewater Project Manager to lead the successful delivery of complex infrastructure projects from feasibility and design through construction, commissioning and handover. The role will involve managing multidisciplinary teams, coordinating consultants, contractors and stakeholders, and ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, on schedule and within budget. You will oversee projects across water treatment, wastewater treatment, pumping stations, pipelines, networks and associated civil, mechanical, electrical and process works.


Key responsibilities will include developing and maintaining project programmes, budgets, risk registers and delivery strategies; monitoring progress and performance against agreed objectives; and providing clear reporting to senior stakeholders and clients. You will manage procurement, contract administration, change control, payment applications and commercial matters, while identifying and addressing risks, delays and technical issues. The role will also require effective coordination of design reviews, construction activities, testing, commissioning and operational handover. Maintaining high standards of health and safety, quality, environmental compliance and regulatory performance will be central to your work.


Applicants should have proven project management experience within the water, wastewater, utilities, civil engineering or related infrastructure sectors, together with a strong understanding of project controls, construction methodologies and relevant contractual frameworks. A degree or equivalent qualification in civil engineering, water engineering, construction management or a related discipline is desirable, along with recognised project management or contract management certification. You will need excellent communication, negotiation and leadership skills, commercial awareness and the ability to build productive relationships at all levels. Experience managing multiple workstreams, budgets and delivery partners is essential, as is a proactive, organised approach and a commitment to delivering safe, sustainable and high-quality outcomes.
