Law Student Clerk - Family Law

Job Description We are seeking a highly-motivated, results-driven law student to join our team who has previous experience working in family law in Missouri and/or Kansas. Position – Law Clerk Full-Time, part-time Pay: $20-$23 hourly, commensurate with experience Work location: In-person at our office in Independence, MO with option for hybrid work after trial period. Responsibilities Assist attorneys in all aspects of family law cases, including divorce, child custody, and adoption Prepare/draft legal documents and correspondence, electronic court filing, conduct research and gather information Scheduling depositions where many parties are involved Answer phones/email and communicate with clients regarding their cases, schedule appointments, take payments, and other miscellaneous communications with clients, courts, attorneys, and vendors Organize and maintain client files using case management systems Perform data entry tasks accurately and efficiently Provide general clerical support to the legal team Proofread legal documents for accuracy and completeness Maintain level of integrity and confidentiality when working with clients and potential clients Day-to-day operations What we’re looking for Previous experience working as a paralegal in family law is required Currently or soon-to-be 2L or 3L law students eligible for practice under Missouri Supreme Court Rule 13. Familiarity with Missouri and/or Kansas family law procedures is required Strong computer proficiency in the use of MS Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook), Document Management Systems, e-filing and database software. Excellent grammar, punctuation, spelling, and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively Able to work in a fast-paced environment with changing work priorities Attention to detail and accuracy in all work performed Ability to work independently with little supervision and as part of a team Familiarity with court filing procedures and deadlines #J-18808-Ljbffr BOATRIGHT LAW LLC
