Finance Intern

Job Description The Finance Intern will be part of our Finance team, assisting with a variety of finance functions, including treasury, accounting, tax, and financial forecasting. This internship provides an excellent opportunity to gain hands‑on experience in corporate finance operations and learn about financial risk management, capital markets, and corporate finance. Albany International Corp is a global advanced textiles and materials processing company. The company has two core businesses: Machine Clothing, the world’s leading producer of custom‑designed fabrics and belts essential to production in the paper, nonwovens, and other process industries; and Engineered Composites (EC), a rapidly growing supplier of highly engineered composite parts for the aerospace industry. Responsibilities Support GL accounting, balance sheet reconciliations, audit, monthly/quarterly/annual close, and financial reporting. Support bank reconciliations, cash applications, accounts payable/receivable, and sales and use tax filings. Support US Income Tax Provision, tax rate analysis, preparation and filing of sales and use tax returns. Help maintain and manage banking relationships, including coordinating with banks for account setups, fund transfers, and bank fee analysis. Assist with the preparation of weekly and monthly treasury reports, including cash positions, cash flow forecasts, and liquidity analysis. Provide assistance in monitoring short‑term investments, interest rates, and market conditions to help manage the company’s cash and short‑term funding strategies. Help track and report on the company’s debt obligations, including loan balances, interest payments, and covenants. Assist with data entry into treasury management systems and contribute to improving treasury workflows and processes. Assist with identifying financial risks, including foreign exchange, interest rate, and commodity price fluctuations, and support risk mitigation strategies. Ensure that all treasury operations are in compliance with internal policies and external regulations and maintain accurate documentation of transactions and treasury activities. Assist with annual and periodic audits. Validate vendor master data (payment method, IBANs, routings, etc.). Participate in ad‑hoc projects and assist team members as assigned. Qualifications Current pursuing a degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field. Strong interest in corporate finance, accounting, tax, treasury management, and financial markets. Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel. Advanced Excel skills are a plus. Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret financial data and assist in forecasting and budgeting. Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast‑paced environment. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to collaborate with internal teams and external partners. Proactive, self‑starter eager to learn and contribute to the treasury function. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Experience with SAP or similar ERP systems is a plus. Location Portsmouth, New Hampshire, United States.
