Description
  • Conduct thorough evaluations of patients spanning pediatric, adult, and geriatric age groups through a mix of standardized assessments and clinical observations.
  • Create customized treatment plans tailored to meet both immediate and long-term goals for communication, cognition, or swallowing abilities.
  • Deliver targeted speech therapy sessions that address fluency, voice, language, and swallowing issues on a one-on-one basis.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including occupational and physical therapists, nurses, and physicians, to develop integrated care approaches.
  • Empower patients and their families through educational resources that foster progress beyond the clinic.
  • Occasionally assist with inpatient evaluations and interventions to ensure seamless continuity of care during their recovery.
  • Keep precise and timely documentation in accordance with applicable regulations and standards.
  • Engage in ongoing education and professional discussions to remain at the forefront of the field.
Education
  • A Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
  • Completion of a Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) for candidates awaiting ASHA certification.
Certifications
  • Valid state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA is preferred.
  • Mandatory Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of employment.
Skills
  • Deep knowledge of evidence-based practices relevant to various speech, language, and swallowing disorders, across all age groups.
  • Exceptional interpersonal communication skills for effective interaction with families, patients, and healthcare teams.
  • Ability to modify therapeutic methods to address unique cultural and linguistic needs.
  • Strong clinical discernment and the ability to tackle challenges adeptly.
  • Familiarity with electronic health record systems and documentation protocols.
