Diesel MechanicAs a Diesel Mechanic in our Truck Shop, you will be working in our state-of-the-art facility on the company equipment. The equipment ranges from regular passenger vehicles, trucks/tractors, van trailers, tank trailers, landoll trailers, lowboys, forklifts, construction equipment, heavy equipment, etc. Maintenance within our facility includes tires, brakes, lights, oil changes, washing, welding, general repairs, hydraulic lines/pumps, PM services, etc. Great pride is taken in our trucks and equipment; we are looking to add the right person to our current team to grow this department.Department: Truck Shop RepairsReports to: Single Department SupervisorHours: Monday – Friday, 40 hours/week (specific hours TBD), weekends and major Holidays offSalary Status: HourlyRequirementsIn order to thrive in this role, you must be able to:Perform minor and major repairs to trucks and trailersRepair and maintain tractors, lifts, diesel and gasoline engines by performing all regular scheduled maintenance and repairs, including fluid and filter changes, inspections, tire rotation, etc.Troubleshoot and repair mechanical malfunctionsInspect fleet vehicles to ensure that all vehicles are DOT compliantConduct field visits in the case of an emergency or sudden breakdownMaintain accurate records of each repair performed on vehicles through work ordersTest drive repaired vehicles to gauge performanceMaintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulationsAdhere to strict safe work practices to comply with all Company, DOT, and OSHA regulationsAdaptable to change on working assignments based on priority/instruction by managementBe a self-starter/self-motivatedDemonstrate a positive cooperative attitude at all timesThe ability to work under pressure and in a fast-paced environmentHave strong listening skillsHave a strong sense of humorHave the ability, will, and want to come to work daily on timeValid driver's license, CDL a plusExperienceHeavy Equipment KnowledgeMechanical KnowledgeDiesel Engine RepairExtra Points If:You can come with your own toolboxEducation Required:No specific requirements are neededBenefits:Insurance: Health, Dental, Vision, Life, and AD&D401kVacation & Sick TimePaid HolidaysA-Verdi believes that "our people are the key to delivering outstanding quality and service to our customers".
