Make a lasting impact in the lives of elementary students by supporting their growth and success in a special education setting. This full-time contract opportunity is ideal for a compassionate and skilled educator ready to lead an elementary self-contained classroom for the 2026-2027 school year. You’ll work closely with about eight students significantly impacted by autism and intellectual disabilities, with the support of two dedicated classroom assistants.

As part of a collaborative school team, you’ll provide instruction and foster a safe, nurturing environment. Your expertise will be invaluable in helping students achieve individualized goals and reach their fullest potential.

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

• Current Special Education teaching license EC-12 for Texas (check TEA database)
• Previous experience working with elementary-aged children with autism and intellectual disabilities preferred
• Familiarity with IEPs and differentiated instruction
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to pass a district background check and drug screening, including fingerprinting

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and deliver personalized instruction for a self-contained classroom
• Develop and implement IEPs in partnership with families and staff
• Maintain accurate records and ongoing progress monitoring
• Collaborate with assistants, support staff, and other educators
• Create a positive, inclusive, and structured learning environment
• Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress
