The candidate will evaluate recipients for purposes of emergency or involuntary admission, approve and sign the first certificate of admission or commitment and certificate of need of commitment, testify in court regarding the same, and order patients to be placed in restraints or seclusion. The psychologist will serve as a member of the Inter‑disciplinary Treatment Team and provide services to Spanish‑speaking patients. Essential Functions Perform professional psychological assessments and therapy for a broad range of individuals. Serve as a member of the Inter‑disciplinary Treatment Team. Select and administer therapeutic and research techniques for recipients exhibiting a broad range of disorders. Provide services to Spanish‑speaking patients. Serve as designated team leader of professional care staff when special assignments or group projects are assigned. Perform Quality Improvement projects to ensure quality of services. Perform other duties as required or assigned, which are normally within the duties enumerated above. Minimum Qualifications Current license as a Clinical Psychologist from the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation. Ability to communicate in Spanish at a colloquial level. Conditions of Employment Must meet the requirements for credentialing and privileging as a consulting member of the medical staff of Elgin Mental Health Center within 30 days of employment. Must be able to walk and stand for a significant period of time, including stooping, bending, lifting or exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally. Must be able to utilize office equipment, including personal computers. Must be able to physically restrain patients as necessary to prevent injury to patient or others. Must be able to travel in the performance of job duties. Must be able to pass the IDHS background check. Must be able to pass a drug screen for drugs prohibited from recreational use under Illinois law. All conditions of employment listed are incorporated and related to any of the job duties as listed in the job description. Work Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 4:00 pm; 30‑minute paid lunch.
