Duties

Help

• Responsible for administration and control of assigned Cyber Security programs in the brigade and its subordinate activities.
• Serves as a Branch Chief in the Cyber Security Division of the 106th Signal Brigade S-3 Cyber Security
• Responsible for management, technical operation, performance monitoring and management, analysis and operations for all Cyber Security support provided to the Brigade's geographical area of operations.
• Ensures that community-wide IT services, e.g., network operations, Cyber Security, and information dissemination management provided to customers within the supported region are in compliance with IA rules and regulations.
• Determines long-range Cyber Security program objectives and develops the strategy for achieving those objectives.
• Responsible for the direct supervision of 4 GG/GS-13 and 2 active duty personnel and assignment of work.

• This position requires a Top Secret security clearance
• This position is a testing designated position (TDP). The incumbent of this position must agree to submit urinalysis testing on a recurring basis. The incumbent is required to sign a DA Form 5019.
• Work may occasionally require travel away from the normal duty station on military and/or commercial aircraft up to 30% of the time.

This is a Supervisory/Management Work Category at the Supervisory/Management Work Level within the CES Occupational Structure.

To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe one year specialized experience that demonstrates the possession of knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Such experience is typically in or directly related to the work of the position to be filled.

Specialized experience would be demonstrated by 1) developing organizational-level policies, or procedures related to cyber security or reviewing and updating existing policies; 2) providing technical assistance troubleshooting C4 (command and control, communications, and computer) networks and systems; and 3) evaluating information security tools and IT system configurations or risk management procedures and providing recommendations for changes or improvements.

• Incumbent (or Selectee) is required to satisfactorily complete the appropriate training and obtain the required certification/recertification for this position as outlined in DoDM 8140.03 Cyberspace Workforce Qualification and Management Program dated 15 February 2023.
• Selection is subject to restrictions resulting from Department of Defense referral system for displaced employees.

The employee must obtain and maintain the following requirements for Cyber work role at the assigned proficiency level 1) Foundational qualification requirements within 9 months, 2) Resident qualification requirements within 12 months, 3) 20 hours of Continuous Professional Development (CPD) per work role code (which can overlap).
• Salary includes applicable locality pay or Local Market Supplement.
