Diesel Technician/Mechanic

Since 2015, we’ve completed more than 8 million miles while elevating safety, reliability, efficiency, and sustainability.A day in this roleYou’ll be the go-to expert for diagnosing and repairing medium/heavy-duty fleet vehicles, ensuring every bus or vehicle you touch is safe, compliant, and ready to roll. You will:Diagnose faults and complete repairs across steering, electrical, cooling, lubrication, braking systems, drivetrains, suspensions, power steering units, clutches, and transmissions.Tune, test, and when needed rebuild engines; service oil, temperature, and fuel regulation components.Work within your qualification level and adhere to all applicable federal, state, and local requirements.Road-test vehicles to confirm issues are fully resolved.Secure required inspections and approvals for major repairs before releasing vehicles from the shop.Maintain a safe, organized, efficient workspace and ensure it meets all federal, state/provincial, and local regulations.Document labor hours, parts usage, and all maintenance/repair actions on the correct forms.Perform road calls and complete on-site roadside repairs as assigned.Identify additional repair needs and escalate items that require a higher technician qualification.Alert the Lead Technician to any unsafe maintenance practices or signs of vehicle abuse.What you bring2–4 years of medium/heavy truck fleet maintenance experience.Strong diagnostic capability plus electrical and A/C proficiency.Deep knowledge of major vehicle systems and diesel equipment.Fleet background with both diesel and gasoline systems.Personally owned set of recommended minimum hand tools for diesel work.Sound judgment and decision-making skills.Valid state driver’s license; CDL preferred.ASE certifications are a plus, not a requirement.Zum Services, Inc. and all its subsidiaries provide equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants for employmentandprohibits discrimination and harassment of any type without regard to race, color, religion,age,sex, national origin, disability status,genetics,protected veteran status,sexual orientation, gender identity or expression,or any other characteristic protected byfederal, state or locallaws. #J-18808-Ljbffr Torrey Holistics
