Preference Employment Solutions is seeking an experienced AutoCAD Drafter for a growing Fargo-area company supporting large-scale steel fabrication and production projects.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys detailed, production-focused drafting and wants to work on substantial projects involving structural steel, fabrication, weldments, hardware, and related components. The company is extremely busy, continues to grow, and is looking to add drafting capacity as it heads into its busiest season.

Type : Full Time
Compensation : $60k - $70k, DOE
Schedule : Monday-Friday, daytime hours

Position Overview:

• Develop detailed production drawings and final blueprints using AutoCAD.

• Prepare drawings for large-scale structural steel components, assemblies, and related hardware.

• Work with plates, tubing, weldments, anchor bolts, nuts, bolts, washers, and sheet metal components.

• Interpret project drawings, measurements, specifications, and takeoffs.

• Revise drawings as project requirements change and maintain accurate documentation.

• Ensure drawings provide the information needed for fabrication and automated production equipment.

• Communicate with production staff when questions, discrepancies, or changes arise.

• Maintain a high level of accuracy throughout the drafting and revision process.

Characteristics of a Successful Candidate:

• Strong AutoCAD experience.

• Previous drafting experience in a production-oriented environment.

• Background in metal fabrication, structural steel, manufacturing, construction, or a related field strongly preferred.

• Ability to read and understand blueprints, measurements, fabrication drawings, and technical specifications.

• Familiarity with weldments, hardware, structural components, takeoffs, or fabrication processes is highly desirable.

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.

• Comfortable working independently in a focused, heads-down drafting environment.

• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with both office and production teams.
