We are seeking an experienced Custodial Project Manager to lead custodial operations and ensure the highest standards of cleanliness, safety, and regulatory compliance across our facilities. This role is ideal for a hands‑on leader with strong facility operations, janitorial management, and project management experience who thrives in a highly regulated environment. Position Summary: The Custodial Project Manager is responsible for the planning, management, and execution of custodial and janitorial services throughout Boehringer Ingelheim facilities. This position will oversee custodial staff and service providers, manage cleaning programs and special projects, ensure compliance with company and regulatory standards, and drive continuous improvement initiatives to support a clean, safe, and professional workplace. Key Responsibilities: Operational Leadership Manage daily custodial operations across multiple facilities, ensuring exceptional cleanliness and service delivery. Develop and maintain cleaning schedules, staffing plans, and quality control programs. Lead custodial supervisors, frontline staff, and contracted service providers. Conduct routine inspections and audits to verify compliance with established cleanliness and sanitation standards. Project Management Plan and oversee special cleaning projects, including floor restoration, deep cleaning, construction clean‑up, office moves, and facility events. Coordinate project timelines, staffing requirements, equipment, and materials to ensure successful project execution. Monitor project performance, budgets, and schedules to meet operational objectives. Compliance & Safety Ensure adherence to GMP, OSHA, environmental, safety, and company policies. Partner with Facilities, Environmental Health & Safety (EHS), and Quality teams to support inspections, audits, and corrective actions. Promote a culture of safety through training, coaching, and accountability. Manage custodial service contracts and vendor relationships. Monitor departmental budgets and operational expenses. Identify cost‑saving opportunities while maintaining service quality. Track and report key performance indicators (KPIs) and service metrics. Customer Service & Continuous Improvement Build strong relationships with facility stakeholders and business partners. Address service concerns promptly and implement corrective actions. Drive process improvements that enhance efficiency, productivity, and customer satisfaction. Qualifications: Required High school diploma or equivalent. Minimum of 5 years of custodial, janitorial, environmental services, or facilities management experience. Minimum of 3 years of supervisory or management experience. Experience managing custodial contractors, vendors, and service agreements. Strong knowledge of custodial operations, equipment, cleaning chemicals, and sanitation practices. Preferred Bachelor's degree in Facilities Management, Business Administration, Environmental Services, or related field. Experience supporting pharmaceutical, laboratory, healthcare, or manufacturing environments. Certification in Facilities Management, Project Management, or Environmental Services. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Strong leadership and team development skills. Excellent organizational and project management capabilities. Knowledge of GMP, OSHA, and workplace safety requirements. Ability to analyze data and performance metrics to drive improvements. Strong communication, customer service, and problem‑solving skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and facility management systems. Experience managing budgets and operational expenditures.
