Genie Healthcare is seeking a travel nurse RN Long Term Acute Care for a travel nursing job in Gainesville, Florida. Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Long Term Acute Care Discipline: RN Start Date: 09/21/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, days Employment Type: Travel We are seeking an experienced Travel Registered Nurse (RN) to provide high-quality patient care in a rehabilitation setting. The RN is responsible for assessing patients, developing and implementing individualized plans of care, coordinating treatment with the interdisciplinary team, and ensuring continuity and safety throughout the patient’s stay. The RN also supervises and provides direction to Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), and orientees while promoting a positive, collaborative, and safe patient-care environment. Key Responsibilities Complete nursing assessments for all patients within 8 hours of admission and develop individualized plans of care. Identify patient and family education needs and establish appropriate teaching goals. Provide timely patient updates for initial and weekly interdisciplinary team conferences. Maintain accurate, timely, and concise documentation of assessments, interventions, and patient responses. Deliver direct patient care using the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Participate in the patient rehabilitation program and support patients in achieving established goals. Initiate discharge planning upon admission and provide education in preparation for discharge. Communicate changes in patient condition promptly to the Charge Nurse, attending physician, and other members of the care team. Seek guidance from senior nursing staff when managing complex clinical situations. Delegate appropriately and provide direction, training, and supervision to ancillary nursing personnel. Promote patient and employee safety by following hospital policies and procedures. Maintain a safe patient-care environment, including awareness of safe patient handling, infection prevention, fall prevention, materials handling, and workplace hazards. Provide calm, positive leadership and contribute to effective team functioning. Monitor supplies and charges while providing cost-effective care without compromising quality. Assume charge nurse responsibilities following orientation when requested. Pursue ongoing professional development through continuing education and self-study. Prioritize assignments and manage time and staff effectively to meet patient needs. Perform additional duties as assigned. Ideal Candidate Current Registered Nurse license. Minimum 2 years of bedside clinical experience . 1 year of ICU experience preferred. BLS certification required prior to first shift. ACLS certification required prior to first shift for CIRH.
