The Compliance Specialist works collaboratively with department leaders and workforce members to support organizational compliance, identify opportunities for improvement, and support adherence to applicable federal and state laws, regulations, accreditation standards, and organizational policies.Essential FunctionsCompliance Program AdministrationAssist with implementation of the annual Compliance Work Plan under the direction of the Compliance Officer.Track assigned compliance initiatives and provide regular status updates.Assist in developing compliance reports, dashboards, and supporting documentation for leadership review.Maintain compliance program records, logs, and documentation.Conduct regulatory research and summarize relevant findings or changes for review by the Compliance Officer.Provide routine compliance support to departments regarding organizational policies and regulatory requirements and refer complex questions or matters to the Compliance Officer.Assist with collecting, organizing, and maintaining documentation for HRSA Operational Site Visits, FTCA deeming and redeeming, and other regulatory reviews.Auditing and MonitoringPerform assigned auditing and monitoring activities using established tools and processes under the direction of the Compliance Officer.Conduct preliminary fact-finding and assist with investigations involving HIPAA concerns, employee misconduct, ethics complaints, conflicts of interest, and other compliance-related matters.Gather documentation, conduct interviews, maintain investigative files, and prepare summaries for review by the Compliance Officer.Track investigation timelines and monitor completion of corrective actions.Assist with documenting audit and monitoring findings and tracking recommended follow-up activities.Policy & Procedure GovernanceAssist with the organization's policy and procedure review process.Maintain the policy and procedure library, including document version control and review schedules.Support the coordination of policy and procedure approvals and organizational distribution.Assign workforce policy attestations and monitor completion rates.Prepare policy governance reports for leadership review.QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Public Health, Nursing, Legal Studies, or a related field preferred.Minimum of two (2) years of progressively responsible experience in healthcare compliance, auditing, risk management, quality improvement, healthcare operations, privacy, safety, or a related healthcare field required.Experience in a Federally Qualified Health Center or other regulated healthcare environment preferred.Certified in Healthcare Compliance (CHC) or another relevant professional certification preferred but not required.Experience conducting research, maintaining confidential records, tracking projects, and preparing professional reports or documentation preferred.Aviva Health is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
