EssentialFunctions and Responsibilities:
- Ensuring that preventionservices are a safe and welcoming environment
- Provide syringe exchange,testing, harm reduction and PrEP Navigation at office and mobile syringe exchangesites
- Collect and maintain andmanage relevant data related to services
- Provide HIV/HCV testingand counseling services to at-risk populations
- Track, maintain, manage,and order supplies related to syringe exchange services
- Coordinate the safedisposal of used syringes, including transporting used syringes
- Provide and document referralsto local medical providers, PrEP Assistance programs, agency HIV Case Managementand Peer programs, substance abuse treatment, mental health and other communityservices
- Assist clients in accessingand enrolling in insurance programs, including but not limited to Oregon HealthPlan (Medicaid), Medicare, and private insurance plans
- Provide Naloxone trainingand kit distribution
- Ensure that all policiesand procedures are followed during prevention services
- Attend workshops andtrainings that are relevant to job responsibilities and which will encourageprofessional development and program growth
- Conduct outreach toidentify individuals in need of HIV prevention services
- Participate in agencycollaborative processes, meetings and committees
- Train and Supervisevolunteers providing prevention services
- Maintain up-to-date HIV andPrEP knowledge and provide HIV and PrEP education to high-risk populations,professionals and community members, in a variety of settings
- Develop and strengthenrelationships with service providers in our service areas
- Conduct outreach online, incommunity sex environments, and at LGBT-related events to gay and bisexual men,offering safer sex supplies and making referrals to our services
- Ability to work well withothers, handle stress appropriately, have reliable attendance
- Ability to use personal cellphone to run agency phone system software, MFA, etc.
- Other tasks as assigned,including training/cross-training other staff as needed
- 1 year of relevantexperience with patient/client interaction or working with similar populationsand services
- Ability to safely drive agency van
- Ability to pass agency criminal background check
- Ability to work eveningsor weekends as needed and to work outdoors regularly
- Comfortable discussingsex, drug use, and HIV/AIDS
- Excellent written and oralcommunication skills
- Ability to build and maintainbridges between HIV Alliance and its clients, other non-profit agencies,governmental entities, key community stakeholders
- Ability to represent theagency and syringe exchange to community members, law enforcement and otherswho have questions about syringe exchange in an informative andnon-confrontational manner
- Ability to make sounddecisions during off site syringe exchanges
- Ability to de-escalatesituations in the field and office-based settings independently
- Knowledge of the uniqueissues affecting high-risk communities and willingness to learn aboutculturally relevant interventions for gay and bisexual men, people who injectdrugs and people living with HIV/AIDS.
- TB test (covered by agency)
- Valid Oregon driver's license, or valid out of statedriver's license with the ability to get an Oregon driver's license within 30days of establishing residency in Oregon, and a driving record sufficient to becovered by agency auto insurance policy.
- Comfortable handling saferinjection and safer sex supplies
- Familiarity using Word,Excel, and Power Point

- Ability to work 5 days perweek for a minimum of 40 hours per week
