Radiology Technologist Assistant

Responsibilities Assist the department with various clerical requirements, including preparing rooms for patients, cleaning rooms after patients, stocking supplies and linen, transporting patients, answering phones, communicating with technologists and contributing to a positive patient experience. Transport patients throughout radiology, including possibly to and from emergency department or inpatient units. Facilitate getting patients ready for examinations, including dressing. Assist patients on and off examination tables. Set up rooms for examinations or procedures. Maintain exam rooms and work areas in a neat and safe condition, ensuring the safety of patients and employees. Recognize emergent situations and respond appropriately; call codes as needed. Identify orders in Epic and coordinate with technologist and radiologist when protocols are needed for examination. Check current lab values on patients receiving contrast. Adhere to hospital policy on body substance isolation. Demonstrate safety for patients, staff, and self per department and hospital protocols and regulatory guidelines. Answer the telephone, take messages, and return calls when instructed. Qualifications High School Diploma/GED or equivalent, or 2 years of work experience. Basic Life Support Health Care Provider (CPR, BLS) certification from American Heart Association. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to provide exceptional customer service. Ability to follow instructions.
