Company Description
The ARM Institute leverages a robust consortium of 500+ consortium members and partners across industry, academia, and government to strengthen and grow US manufacturing. The ARM Institute does this by catalyzing solutions that drive the adoption of robotics and physical AI. With a forward-looking focus on innovative, yet practical, technology and workforce development solutions and leveraging the nation’s largest consortium of automation experts, the ARM Institute asserts the United States as leading nation in manufacturing output through the adoption of robotics and AI. As a Manufacturing Innovation Institute (MII) and part of the Manufacturing USA® network, the ARM Institute team plays a critical, national role in driving the innovations needed to grow US manufacturing.
The ARM Institute is seeking an organized and detail-oriented Education and Workforce Development (EWD) Project Assistant to support the successful delivery of workforce development and economic development initiatives. Reporting to the Director of EWD Programs, this role provides project coordination, administrative support, and program tracking for a portfolio of grant-funded programs that strengthen the U.S. manufacturing workforce. Working closely with internal teams, program partners, educational institutions, funders, and other stakeholders, the EWD Project Assistant coordinates project activities, maintains documentation, tracks program progress, and supports communications to ensure successful execution of workforce development initiatives. This role is ideal for a collaborative professional who enjoys organization, problem-solving, and supporting programs that create meaningful impact within manufacturing and workforce development. Travel of up to 20% may be required to support meetings, training sessions, events, and other business-related activities. Responsibilities
- Coordinate the planning and execution of workforce development and economic development programs and initiatives.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for program partners, sub-awardees, and stakeholders, assisting with onboarding, contracting, documentation, and ongoing communications.
- Coordinate meetings, workshops, training sessions, and events, including scheduling, agendas, presentations, meeting materials, and meeting summaries.
- Maintain accurate project documentation, records, dashboards, and shared resources to support program operations and compliance requirements.
- Collect, organize, and track project data, performance metrics, deliverables, and program outcomes.
- Prepare reports, presentations, and project updates for leadership, funding agencies, and external stakeholders.
- Support communication and collaboration among internal teams, partners, funders, educational institutions, and community organizations.
- Maintain project databases, trackers, and website content to ensure information remains accurate, current, and accessible.
- Provide logistical and administrative support for educational programming, visitor experiences, workshops, and Learning Lab activities.
- Support the administration of ARM's Endorsement Program, including applications, renewals, audits, reporting, and participant communications.
- Contribute to special projects and continuous improvement initiatives that support ARM Institute's workforce development strategy.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Education, Public Administration, Business, Workforce Development, or a related field required. An associate degree and/or equivalent professional experience may be considered in lieu of a bachelor's degree.
- Minimum of one year of experience supporting project coordination, program administration, education, workforce development, or a related field.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook, as well as common project tracking and collaboration tools.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively with diverse internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team environment.
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 20% as needed for meetings, events, and program support.
- Travel up to 20% may be required.
- U.S. citizenship required.
- Experience supporting federally funded grants, workforce development, education, or nonprofit programs.
- Experience coordinating meetings, events, workshops, or educational programming.
- Familiarity with project management software, CRM systems, or grant management tools.
- Experience working with Manufacturing USA® institutes, higher education institutions, government agencies, or manufacturing organizations.
- Interest in advanced manufacturing, robotics, workforce development, or STEM education.
At ARM Institute, you’ll help accelerate the adoption of robotics and AI technologies that strengthen U.S. manufacturing. You’ll collaborate with leading manufacturers, technology companies, startups, researchers, and government partners on projects with national impact while helping shape the future of advanced manufacturing.
