Clienttion Oncology NurseThe Clienttion Oncology Nurse is a registered nurse who functions in a collaborative role with the Clienttion Oncology Team. This role provides continuity and quality patient care. The nurse will assess and deliver appropriate nursing interventions for actual or potential problems that the patient may experience related to the disease process, treatment course, and follow-up period. Emphasis is placed on teaching, counseling, and supportive functions to assist patients and/or families in coping with and adjusting to a cancer diagnosis and treatment. The RN assists in the evaluation and examination of patients with the Clienttion Oncologist. This position acts as a liaison between Clienttion Oncology and other departments as well as physician groups/offices and counseling/support groups. In this setting, the Clienttion Oncology Nurse will assess and provide appropriate referrals for alternative resources such as recovery, rehabilitation, nursing home care, hospice, and nutritional services. Ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced clinic environment is essential. Effective communication skills with members of the multidisciplinary team, both written and verbal, are required. Coordination of oncology patient care with interdisciplinary staff is necessary. Flexibility and strong organizational skills are important. Knowledge and skills to care for patients of various age groups, human development stages, and cultural groups are required. Understanding of chronic illness and comorbidity management is necessary. Current knowledge of the latest trends, skills, procedures, and protocols in hematology/oncology and internal medicine practice is expected.
