Scheduling Supervisor

Overview Virginia Cancer Specialists, an affiliate of McKesson Specialty Health and US Oncology, a leader in cancer care, is seeking a full‑time Scheduling Supervisor for our administration office in Fairfax, Virginia. Medical office and insurance experience is preferred. Benefits Medical, dental, vision, paid holidays and 401(k). Scope of Work Responsible for coordination and operation of scheduling functions. Acts as a liaison with physicians, patients and office staff. Oversees the development, administration and enforcement of scheduling procedures for each physician, lab and chemotherapy department and supports compliance with the US Oncology Compliance Program. Responsibilities Supervise the daily activities of scheduling staff and perform necessary duties when workload demands. Collect all information needed to enter a new patient into the system, including demographics, insurance data and medical records for physician evaluation. Maintain scheduling guidelines for physicians, labs and chemotherapy. Review daily schedules for accuracy and resolve conflicts. Coordinate scheduling procedures with front office, medical staff, insurance and billing to ensure smooth transition and accurate information. Train new employees and update staff on new procedures. Oversee daily charge ticket and chart preparation per physician specifications and collect end‑of‑day charge tickets with diagnosis and office level completion. Assist in supervising schedulers and other non‑licensed patient‑care providers as needed. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. Minimum seven years of office experience, preferably in a medical office setting. Strong organizational and communication skills. Physical and Work Environment The position requires long periods of sitting, occasional lifting of files up to 30 pounds, and use of keyboard, calculator, telephone and copier.
