Shipping Manager

Job Details Lead and oversee general shipping activities and manage the shipping staff Ensure the smooth operation of the shipping department Make sure all processes and procedures are being followed, issuing corrective action when needed Manage the loading and unloading of trucks, including physically moving bread/bun stacks to the shipping dock Inspect incoming shipments and manage discrepancies Generate BOL’s and ensure seals are applied and tracked to trailers carrying ingredients Collaborate effectively with the dispatch department Communicate and attempt to resolve shortages Monitor accuracy and productivity of shipping staff Oversee the scheduling and timecard approval of shipping staff Description Lead and oversee general shipping activities and manage the shipping staff Ensure the smooth operation of the shipping department Make sure all processes and procedures are being followed, issuing corrective action when needed Manage the loading and unloading of trucks, including physically moving bread/bun stacks to the shipping dock Inspect incoming shipments and manage discrepancies Operate electric pallet jacks Generate BOL’s and ensure seals are applied and tracked to trailers carrying ingredients Collaborate effectively with the dispatch department Communicate and attempt to resolve shortages Monitor accuracy and productivity of shipping staff Oversee the scheduling and timecard approval of shipping staff Qualifications Detail oriented with strong multitasking skills Thrives in fast paced environment with a proven ability to solve problems Excellent communication and follow up skills Proficient in managing day-to-day operations and using computer systems Physical Requirements Constant standing and walking on concrete floors and trailer beds Occasional pushing/pulling of transport racks and bread trays Regular bending, stopping, twisting, reaching, lifting, and carrying Handling and grasping bakery product trays, transport racks, and boxes Frequently lifting and/or moving items up to 50lbs.
