Description
  • Conduct thorough evaluations of patients across pediatric, adult, and geriatric demographics employing established assessment tools and observational techniques.
  • Create individualized treatment plans focused on immediate goals and ongoing communication, cognitive, or swallowing requirements.
  • Deliver personalized speech therapy sessions aimed at enhancing communication, language skills, fluency, voice control, and swallowing capabilities.
  • Engage in teamwork with physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, and caregivers to develop unified treatment approaches.
  • Educate patients and their families to promote progress outside therapy sessions.
  • Participate in occasional inpatient evaluations and interventions, ensuring seamless continuity of care for patients.
  • Maintain precise and timely documentation in accordance with state, federal, and organization protocols.
  • Stay updated with the latest advancements in speech-language pathology through ongoing education and professional collaboration.
Education
  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
  • Completion of a Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not ASHA-certified.
Certifications
  • State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
  • Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification necessary within 30 days of hire.
Skills
  • Expertise in evidence-based treatment methods for a wide age range, along with a solid grasp of developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Ability to customize therapy techniques to accommodate varying cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with electronic medical records and documentation standards.
