Full-Time Float Lab Associate II Phlebotomy

Missouri Baptist Medical Center is hiring a Full-Time Float Lab Associate II Phlebotomy.

Position Details:

• Experienced phlebotomist position
• Float Phlebotomist Provides coverage to the St. Louis area across BJC multiple locations - locations may vary daily
• Day Shift Hours: 8-hour shifts between the hours of 6:30am -5:30pm (Monday- Friday) depending on Hours and locations vary based on operational needs
• NO Weekends or holidays!!!
• Performing venipunctures and urine collections
• Utilizing multiple Laboratory Information Systems
• Ensuring high-quality patient care and customer service
• Reliable transportation needed

Experience:

• Minimum of 2 years of professional phlebotomy experience
• Expertise in blood draws & specimen collection
• Excellent patient interaction and communication skills

Overview:

Missouri Baptist Medical Center, an acute care hospital in St. Louis County, offers a full continuum of medical and surgical services, including heart care, cancer, women and infants, breast health, gastrointestinal, orthopedic, stroke, therapy, wound and pain management services. Preferred Qualifications:

Perform specimen collection, specimen handling and clerical duties. Experienced in phlebotomy and proficient in performing additional tasks such as central processing duties, in-office phlebotomy, or inventory management.

Responsibilities:

• Interpret physician orders and order tests in appropriate system.
• Perform phlebotomy, positive patient identification, and positive patient interaction, proper collection and specimen integrity. May work in outpatient lab, in physician office, or off campus patient service center.
• Sort and process specimens received by the laboratory and proficiently handle all specimens received in the lab.
• Coordinates a simultaneous series of tasks accurately, including STAT orders and fluctuation in workload, prioritizing work to complete within scheduled hours and established turnaround times.
• May perform registration, inventory maintenance, and other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

• Education: High School Diploma or GED
• Experience: <2 years
• Supervisor Experience: No Experience

Preferred Requirements:

• Education: Associate's Degree
• Experience: 2-5 years
• Supervisor Experience: < 2 years
• Licenses & Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS), Phlebotomy
