Major Food Group is partnering with Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Hollywood to bring a new dining experience to one of South Florida's most dynamic destinations.

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Matre D to join our team! Major Food Group was founded in 2011, when chefs Rich Torrisi and Mario Carbone joined forces with fellow New Yorker and like-minded entrepreneur Jeff Zalaznick. Their partnership took what began as an intimate, acclaimed destination in downtown ManhattanTorrisi Italian Specialtiesand turned it into a multifaceted global hospitality brand with a modern, celebratory approach to luxury lifestyle experiences. From classic steakhouses, to varying styles of Italian cuisine, to French bistros, Japanese brasseries, MFG operates a wide breadth of concepts and seeks to transcend traditional hospitality models by offering multi-dimensional, immersive experiences that are deeply rooted in, and inspired by relevant history and culture.

The Matre D serves as the first and lasting impression of the restaurant, providing polished, personalized guest service in a fine dining environment. This role manages reservations and walk-in flow, coordinates seating and table pacing, and collaborates closely with the management team, culinary team, and service staff to deliver an exceptional and seamless dining experience.

Key responsibilities include greeting and seating guests, anticipating needs and resolving concerns with discretion, communicating menu features and special events as appropriate, and ensuring service standards and presentation are consistently upheld throughout the dining room.

Essential Job Functions:

• Must be reliable and conscientious, possess the ability to interact (in English) with guests, co-workers and supervisory staff.
• Must be accurate and detail oriented with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• The ability to act quickly and exercise good judgment under pressure and/or conflict situations is a must.
• Oversee dining room operation in a restaurant.
• Customer relations and ensuring guests receive impeccable service at all times.
• Greet customers and guide them to their tables.
• Answer customer questions regarding food, drinks, and specials.
• Help flow of traffic in and out of the restaurant.
• Engage guests, act as an ambassador of the restaurant in both personality and knowledge.
• Resolve customer complaints or disputes.
• Manage waitstaff to ensure efficient and excellent service throughout a dinner service.

• Proficient in computer skills including POS systems, Word and Excel.

Qualifications:

Four (4) years of restaurant experience in a high-volume, fine dining restaurant required.

• At least two (2) years' experience leading a front door team as a Matre D.
• Previous Matre D experience preferred.
• Open availability including nights, weekends, and holidays is required.

Work Environment:

• May be exposed to casino related environmental factors including, but not limited to, secondhand smoke and excessive noise.
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms, talk or hear; and taste or smell. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, distance, color, and peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

• The Casino environment is hectic, fast-paced and often crowded and noisy. May be exposed to casino related environmental factors including, but not limited to, secondhand smoke, excessive noise and constant exposure to general public.
• Must be able to communicate effectively with guests in English, specific to position duties and responsibilities.
