Major Food Group is partnering with Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Hollywood to bring a new dining experience to one of South Florida's most dynamic destinations.

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Server Captain to join our team! Major Food Group was founded in 2011, when chefs Rich Torrisi and Mario Carbone joined forces with fellow New Yorker and like-minded entrepreneur Jeff Zalaznick. Their partnership took what began as an intimate, acclaimed destination in downtown ManhattanTorrisi Italian Specialtiesand turned it into a multifaceted global hospitality brand with a modern, celebratory approach to luxury lifestyle experiences. From classic steakhouses, to varying styles of Italian cuisine, to French bistros, Japanese brasseries, MFG operates a wide breadth of concepts and seeks to transcend traditional hospitality models by offering multi-dimensional, immersive experiences that are deeply rooted in, and inspired by relevant history and culture.

As a valuable addition to our team, you must ensure that guests have a pleasant and memorable dining experience. The ideal candidates will be passionate and have a commanding knowledge about food, wine, and service in general.

These individuals will be the key points of contact for guests throughout their dining experience. They must have the ability to work well with the team and provide the utmost level of hospitality to our guests.

Essential Job Functions:

• Exhibit conduct in accordance with all Gaming Commission Regulations and Seminole Tribe of Florida departmental policies and procedures.
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced, busy, and somewhat stressful environment and maintain physical stamina.
• Proper mental attitude and ability to deal effectively with guests, physical ability to access all areas of the facility, withstand prolonged standing, stretching, bending, kneeling, lifting and carrying items weighting up to 40 lbs without restriction.
• Must be congenial and have neat, professional appearance with good personal hygiene.
• Must be reliable and conscientious, possess the ability to interact (in English) with guests, co-workers and supervisory staff.
• Must be accurate and detail oriented with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• The ability to act quickly and exercise good judgment under pressure and/or conflict situations is a must.
• Performs all other related and compatible duties as needed.
• Greet and serve guests in a timely and courteous manner.
• Take guest orders, serve food and drinks, and collect monies in a courteous and efficient manner. Adhere to cash handling procedures.
• Is familiar with all menu specifications and abbreviations.
• Adheres to food & beverage policies, procedures, state liquor laws, state food safety handler regulations and all related training material.
• Knowledgeable of restaurant (ordering) systems; expediting systems.
• Communicates with kitchen expeditor; checks order duplicates for correctness; communicates discrepancies to the expeditor.
• Completes all set-up and closing duties in a timely fashion.
• Maintains a clean, safe, hazard-free work environment within area of responsibility.
• Demonstrate a commitment to ensuring responsible gaming and responsible alcohol service by discreetly notifying appropriate management of concerns and observations.
• Handles and solves any concerns and questions customers may have or relays guest complaints/compliments to the appropriate Manager on duty.
• Promotes positive public/employee relations at all times.
• Perform other assignments as directed.

Qualifications:

Minimum of three (3) years as a Captain or five (5) years as a Server in a high-volume restaurant required.

• Must be able to carry trays that weigh a minimum of 10lbs. on one arm.
• Ability to deliver a service level which creates an atmosphere that makes our guests want to return, giving each guest a positive, memorable entertainment experience.
• Commitment to routinely go above and beyond in the accomplishment of position responsibilities in an effort to play a role in the achievement of organizational goals.
• Must present an image of excitement, enthusiasm, and outgoing personality, while being able to project a professional appearance.
• Management expectation is that you must be able to work any shift including weekends and holidays.

Work Environment:

• May be exposed to casino related environmental factors including, but not limited to, second hand smoke and excessive noise.
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms, talk or hear; and taste or smell. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, distance, color, and peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

• The Casino environment is hectic, fast-paced and often crowded and noisy. May be exposed to casino related environmental factors including, but not limited to, second hand smoke, excessive noise and constant exposure to general public.
• Must be able to communicate effectively with guests in English, specific to position duties and responsibilities.
