Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach Job Summary The Assistant Strength & Conditioning Coach is a twelve‑month, full‑time position that supports the overall mission of the Athletic Department by assisting the Assistant Athletic Director for Sports Performance. The role involves designing and implementing year‑round training programs, collaborating with sport coaches, ensuring alignment with competitive goals, and maintaining NCAA compliance. Job Duties Coordinate daily with Sport Performance staff to ensure unified training standards and department alignment. Communicate regularly with sport coaches regarding training goals, athlete readiness, and competitive demands. Collaborate with athletic trainers to integrate injury‑prevention strategies and return‑to‑play progressions. Develop periodized training programs aligned with sport calendars and competitive objectives. Create individualized modifications based on athlete needs, performance data, and medical considerations. Lead daily training sessions with technical instruction, movement correction, and performance feedback. Monitor athlete safety, readiness, and training intensity to optimize performance and reduce injury risk. Demonstrate proper technique and provide real‑time coaching cues to enhance movement quality. Track performance metrics and adjust training prescriptions based on data and coach feedback. Ensure compliance with the University’s Title IX and other MSU policies and procedures. Manage MSU and student information confidentially and ethically. Assist with coordination and performance on competition day management, as necessary. Possible team travel as requested on an as‑needed basis. Perform other duties, including administrative tasks, as assigned by the Assistant Athletic Director for Sport Performance and/or the Vice President & Director of Athletics or designee. Requested Minimum Qualifications Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, or a related field from an accredited college or university. Experience: Minimum one year of collegiate strength and conditioning coaching experience. Certifications: Current NSCA or CSCCA certification and CPR & First Aid certification, both maintained throughout employment. Other Preferences for Consideration Master’s degree in a related discipline. Division I experience. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Ability to provide demonstrative instruction and feedback to student‑athletes while standing. Physical capability to lift, pull, push equipment used during training, climb stairs, bend, squat, and perform related movements. Safe use of training equipment and various technology, including computer, laptop, telephone, and sport science software. #J-18808-Ljbffr
