Position Part‑Time Peer Program Assistant (24 hours per week) – new Baltimore County Catonsville site. The Peer Program Assistant is a presence for the members, assisting with the daily operations of the Center, encouraging member participation in groups and engaging with members via socialization, games, discussions, or peer‑to‑peer support discussions. The assistant also assists with linkages to services and activities. Work Location In‑person, Catonsville, MD What You’ll Do Expected to work on site during core open hours, including time for pre and post hours Performs orientation for new members Opens, closes and facilitates the daily operations of the center (cleaning, setting up snacks, creating daily sign‑in sheets, recycling, organizing papers and books, etc.) Assists with monthly, quarterly, and annual reports Enters new member data and attendance records Creates correspondences, including requests for donations Keeps track of and replenishes program supplies Operates 4‑line telephone system, including the “warm line,” to answer incoming calls to Center, according to departmental protocols Monitors member usage of the telephone system Retrieves messages from voicemail, returns calls, logs them, and forwards to Director Welcomes on‑site visitors and members and directs them to appropriate personnel or department Gives potential members appropriate information packets (SSWRC application, calendar, brochure, flyers) Tracks visitor data, including new membership applications, and monthly, quarterly, and annual visitor data (new visitors, visitor‑to‑member ratio, non‑duplicated counts) Performs other clerical duties as needed (filing, photocopying, collating, petty cash, flyers, calendars) Creates flyers for events in MS Word and other programs if applicable and available Facilitates support group membership meetings and activities Coordinates with Director in scheduling activities and developing new groups Drives other members to nearby events Checks email according to agency protocol Participates in and completes all required trainings Other duties as assigned What Is Needed This position requires the employee to become WRAP certified and NAMI Connection Support Group Facilitator certified within six (6) months of employment High School Diploma or GED OR one to three months related experience and/or training OR equivalent combination of education and experience Peer Recovery Specialist Certification (CPRS) OR willingness to be certified within a year of employment (Sante will pay for your certification if you do not have it at the time of hire) At least two (2) years in full recovery and three (3) years of lived experience with mental illness, substance abuse, or a co‑occurring disorder Employee must have access to a vehicle for business purposes, a valid Driver’s License, proof of current automobile insurance, and no more than two (2) points on their driving record What You’ll Get Pay Rate: $22.00 per hour Schedule: Part‑time, 24 hours per week (6 hours per day) Part‑time benefits Certification assistance (if applicable) and no‑cost supervision for Peer Recovery Certification Generous sick leave Employee Assistance Program – confidential support for life's challenges Wellness perks – annual wellness initiatives and access to the Calm App Recognition & rewards – through Awardco platform and referral program Exclusive discounts – deals through FunEx and more Training & growth – ongoing development programs and career advancement opportunities Culture of purpose – welcoming, inclusive environment where you belong We understand that no candidate is perfectly qualified for any job, and we believe that diversity of background and experience makes for better problem‑solving and collaboration, which is why we are dedicated to adding new perspectives to the team.
