Job Title Sr. Database Administrator Company Tampa Electric Company Location Bearss Operations Center, Tampa, Florida Shift 8 Hr. X 5 Days Reporting To Manager, Application Development & Support (AD&S); Lead Database Administrator Primary Duties & Responsibilities Coordinate and prioritize work assignments based on business and technical requirements; may act as project lead within the Database Administration department. Provide consulting and support to systems development staff in efficient SQL coding techniques for optimum database and application performance. Maintain knowledge of existing and emerging database technologies and recommend adoption of new technologies where appropriate. Participate in projects that ensure the ongoing integrity of all corporate-wide databases and database architecture. Perform upgrades to DBMSs and data integration products, including impact analysis, testing, data conversion, and implementation. Implement and support data integration products for application-specific data access and data warehousing. Enforce database standards and procedures for primary DBMS products in use at TECO Energy, develop and maintain these standards. Maintain requisite knowledge of all standard operating systems in use at TECO Energy necessary to perform the DBA function. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or a related discipline. Eight years of direct experience in database administration (or equivalent combination of experience). Expert knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server or Oracle DBMS and working knowledge of at least one additional DBMS (DB2, Oracle, SQL Server).
