Position Purpose: The Coordinator, Nuclear Medicine Clinical Operations & Team Lead Nuclear Medicine & PET-CT performs the duties of the Nuclear Medicine Technologist andis responsible forassistingwith the day-to-day operation of the Nuclear Medicine Department, locally or system-wide. This role works closely with Administrative and Physician leadership tomaintainefficient and effective operations, ensure quality, and promote change. Thecoordinatoralsoassistswith the development and maintenance of educational programs for the Nuclear Medicine staff, provides supervision and direction to the staff, and interacts and works collaboratively with other departments. Thecoordinatoris patient-focused,seekingto provide an excellent patient experience. What you will do as a Nuclear Medicine Coordinator: Assumes responsibility forperformanceof job duties in the safest possible manner, to assure personal safety and that of coworkers, and to report all preventable hazards and unsafe practicesimmediatelyto management. Assistdepartment management in interviewing, selecting, orienting, evaluating, training, and counseling Nuclear Medicine Technologists. Oversee day-to-day patient care activities, ensuring adequate staffing and quality of diagnostic imaging procedures. Schedule, plan, and assign duties to staff,participatein staff meetings, and ensure compliance with Radiation Safety Policy. Perform routine and complex diagnostic imaging procedures,monitorequipment, and ensure proper treatment of patients. Maintain inventory of supplies, recommend equipment purchases, and ensure proper maintenance. Instruct students andnew staffmembers, serve as a resource to Nuclear Medicine Technologists, andmaintainconfidentiality of patient information. Required Qualifications: Completion of an accredited Nuclear Medicine Technologist program and registered as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist by the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) or the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). Associate’s degree in applied sciencein Nuclear Medicinerequired,bachelor’s degreepreferred. Three or more years of experience as a staff technologist in specific imaging modality. Twoyears’NM experience preferred. Three to five years of supervisory experience ina Radiologyimaging modality preferred. Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologists (CNMT). Mustmaintaincontinuing education credits per biennium toretainregistry status in compliance with the CE requirements of their certifying organization for the imaging modality in which they perform services. NMTCB PET preferred. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Certification or re-certification inCardiopulmonaryResuscitation (CPR) within three months of hire.
