Veterinary Extern - General Practice

Externship Overview Students will work closely with Associate Veterinarians to gain experience in gathering patient histories, performing physical exams, creating treatment plans, diagnostics, dentistry services, observing or assisting surgical procedures, and medical management of patients. They will also practice communication skills with the medical team, support staff, and clients. Internship Details Externship duration ranges from two to eight weeks depending on student and hospital schedules. All veterinary students (regardless of class year) are encouraged to participate. Veterinary students in the clinical portion of their education are eligible for a travel/living expense stipend. Stipend Stipend amount for Animal Care Center of Downers Grove is $1,500. Additional stipend details are available on the company site.
