This role coordinates production priorities, monitors schedule performance, and works closely with Production, Customer Service, and other departments to ensure efficient workflow and on-time delivery.This position plans and schedules production by reviewing material availability, routings, capacity, and inventory levels. Responsibilities include releasing and updating job orders in the Made2Manage (M2M) ERP system, expediting critical orders, monitoring work-in-process, and serving as the liaison between Production and Customer Service to communicate schedule changes and resolve production issues.The role is also responsible for all purchasing activities for the site. This includes preparing and issuing purchase orders, coordinating with suppliers to ensure timely delivery and quality, maintaining approved supplier relationships, negotiating pricing and lead times, and identifying cost-reduction opportunities while ensuring compliance with company policies and quality requirementsTypical DutiesIdentify and manage top 3–5 constrained work centers with executable production schedulesDevelop, maintain, and manage detailed production schedules for constrained areasWork with Production leadership to address capacity constraintsMaintain integrated master schedulesReport capacity availability to support customer demand and sales ordersEstablish and maintain production parameters (standards) with Engineering and ProductionResolve work order quantity variances and material remnantsSupport Customer Service and Sales with production scheduling alignmentEnsure capacity for expedites, product development, and demand spikesMonitor production control KPIs (on-time delivery, job releases, on-time release performance)Lead continuous improvement efforts in scheduling processesReview and determine safety stock levels for finish goods, purchased items and economical build quantitiesMonitor purchasing queue and issue purchase orders to ensure on-time deliveryFollow up on open purchase orders and supplier performanceCoordinate with Quality on non-conforming materialsManage supplier returns with Shipping and Accounts PayableComplete and process new supplier setup and approvalsMaintain and update supplier records in M2M ERP systemEvaluate supplier performance using system dataUpdate vendor lead times in ERP systemThe following three duties will be applicable to all positions Follow all safety requirements.Maintain good housekeeping in work and public areas.Other duties as needed or assigned by supervisor.Required SkillsDevelop and execute Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP or SIOP) strategiesAPICS CPIM certification completed or in process.Fluent in ERP software, MRP, Scheduling and Planning systems.Experience with purchasing practices and supplier managementMust be proficient in Microsoft Office including, but not limited to, Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook.Commitment to excellence and high standards.Excellent written and oral communication skills.Leadership and business acumen skills.Strong interpersonal skills.Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills.Ability to deal effectively with a diversity of individuals at all organizational levels.Good judgment with the ability to make timely and sound decisions.Working knowledge of data collection, data analysis, evaluation, and scientific methods.Versatility, flexibility, and ability to work within changing priorities with enthusiasm.Proven ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines.Preferred SkillsAPICS CertificationFluent with M2M MRP/ERP system3-5 years of supervisory experienceKnowledge of military and commercial specifications and standardsLean manufacturing /six sigma training and demonstrated experienceEducation RequirementsBachelor's degree (B.A. /B.S.) in related field or equivalent.Experience RequirementsFive years of master scheduling experience or three years master scheduling experience plus two years directly related experience.Valid driver's license and insuranceAcceptable driving recordPhysical RequirementsSitting, walking, standing.
