Import Specialist

Position Overview We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Import Specialist to join our dynamic supply chain team. In this pivotal role, you will oversee the end-to-end import process, ensuring seamless coordination of shipments, compliance with international trade regulations, and optimal logistics cost. Responsibilities Review and manage international shipping documentation such as Bill of Lading (BL), Commercial Invoices (CI), Packing Lists (PL), and customs declarations/ clearance including Importer Security Filing (ISF), Automated Export System (AES), Entry Summary. Collaborate with 3PL providers, NVOCC (Non-Vessel Operating Common Carrier) partners, and freight forwarders to streamline logistics operations and optimize costs. Ensure strict compliance with customs regulations, tariffs, and trade documentation requirements; maintain accurate records for auditing purposes. Analyze supply chain data to identify opportunities for process improvement, cost reduction, and enhanced operational efficiency across procurement, sourcing, and warehouse activities. Utilize analytical and problem-solving skills to address complex international logistics challenges, proactively monitor shipment statuses, resolve delays, and manage shipment exceptions. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Logistics or Business (preferred） 5+ years previous experience in supply chain management with a focus on import logistics; Strong knowledge of international shipping procedures, import regulations, Incoterms, and customs procedures, freight forwarding, shipping & receiving protocols, transportation management systems (TMS), warehouse management system (WMS), ERP systems and MS Office applications Ability to manage multiple priorities and perform well under pressure Experience managing customs brokers and third-party trade-related service providers Experience defining and tracking logistics KPIs and using data for continuous improvement Exceptional organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation and compliance requirements.
