These baked goods are distributed to various Dining locations across campus.What you'll do in this role:Learn bakery standard operations proceduresProduction of cakes, breads, cookies and desserts for campus dining operationsPrepare and organize ordersUtilize computerized inventory/ordering system to establish production schedulesVerify product inventoriesCompleting training and food safety courses per CSC requirementsCleaning and sanitizing bakery equipment and preparation surfacesSupervise part-time and student employeesWhat qualifies you for this role:RequiredA firm commitment to the mission of BYU1 year of full-time equivalent bakery production experience or a culinary certification/degree from an accredited culinary schoolA physical exam and lift test will be conducted as a part of the hiring process for this position.Physical Effort:Moderate - Physical effort represented by frequent handling of medium weight objects (approx. 20-50 lbs) and materials, or use of medium weight hand tools. May require climbing and working from ladders or in awkward positions.Environment:Periodic exposure to unfavorable conditions because of unavoidable need to be in variable temperatures or wet environments.Hazards:Moderate or existing potential hazards.Typical Physical Efforts, Environmental Factors, and Hazards:Product is kept in freezers. Employee must organize freezer inventory daily for approximately 30 minutes. Coats are provided.Lifting items up to 50 lbs. multiple times daily.Preferred5 years of full-time equivalent bakery production experience or a culinary certification/degree from an accredited culinary schoolWhat we offer in return:This position comes with fantastic benefits , including:401k.
