Step into a fulfilling contract opportunity as a school-based Occupational Therapist serving diverse students in the Elgin, IL area. This position offers hands-on involvement across multiple elementary, middle, and high school sites within the district, offering a rich and dynamic work environment that supports children from Pre-K through transition to adulthood.

You’ll work itinerantly, managing a caseload that spans a broad range of ages and needs, collaborating closely with dedicated staff to help students maximize their participation and success in daily school activities. Your expertise will play a vital role in assessments, individualized education plan (IEP) development, and implementation of targeted interventions.

Qualifications:

• Current, unrestricted Occupational Therapist license from the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR)
• Previous experience in a school-based setting is highly valued
• Confidence in navigating different school environments and collaborating within multidisciplinary teams
• Commitment to fulfilling all onboarding requirements promptly—including completion of a fingerprint background check
• Strong communication and organizational skills to manage an itinerant schedule and varied caseload

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct occupational therapy services to students across assigned school sites
• Conduct assessments and document progress towards IEP goals
• Support students’ functional access and participation within their school environments
• Work collaboratively with educators, families, and other service providers
• Travel between schools in the district according to your assigned schedule

This role allows you to make a lasting impact while developing your skills in a school-focused clinical setting. The position is full-time (35-37.5 hours weekly), beginning as soon as credentialing is complete and extending into early summer of 2027.
