This position is ideal for a CPA who excels in client relationships, team leadership, and value-driven advisory services in a dynamic and collaborative environment.Position SummaryThe Outsourced Accounting Director / Senior Manager is responsible for leading outsourced accounting engagements and delivering high-level advisory services. This role combines relationship management, team supervision, and strategic insight while contributing to business development and firm leadership initiatives.Description of DutiesClient Management & AdvisoryServe as the primary advisor for a portfolio of entrepreneurial business clients.Provide fractional CFO services including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.Identify and implement process improvements and technology solutions to drive client success.Engagement OversightOversee monthly and quarterly outsourced accounting services.Review financial statements and compliance deliverables for quality and timeliness.Leadership & Team DevelopmentSupervise and mentor a team of staff and senior accountants.Foster a collaborative, supportive, and client-focused team culture.Provide performance feedback and support professional development.Process ImprovementLead operational efficiency initiatives through workflow design and automation tools.Help refine service delivery models for entrepreneurial clients.Practice GrowthParticipate in firm growth initiatives including business development, proposal writing, and networking.Represent the firm in the community as a thought leader and subject matter expert.Recommended Skills and QualificationsCPA license required, bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field6-10 years of accounting experience, with tax and client-facing responsibilitiesPublic accounting background and familiarity with small/mid-size businesses preferredProven track record managing client relationships and overseeing multiple engagementsStrong team leadership and mentorship skillsFamiliarity with cloud-based accounting platforms including QuickBooks OnlineStrategic thinking, organizational efficiency, and high emotional intelligenceEffective written and verbal communication skillsEntrepreneurial spirit with a proactive, solution-oriented approachBest Practices for Success in This RoleBuild trusted, long-term relationships with clients by consistently delivering value.Utilize multiple communication channels for client interaction and team collaboration.Maintain structured workflows and documented SOPs to ensure service quality.Provide frequent feedback and development opportunities to your team.Embrace cloud tools and automation for client reporting, budgeting, and compliance.Track performance metrics such as client satisfaction, engagement profitability, and team utilization.Actively contributes to firm growth through community presence and industry engagement.Stay informed on industry trends to evolve services and remain competitive.What We OfferAt Berndt CPA LLC, we support our team members in maintaining a healthy work-life balance.
