Project Manager - Campus Planning & Capital Projects - Enterprise Physical Operations

Position Summary The Enterprise Physical Operations, Infrastructure, Capital Programs & Real Estate (EPO) department at WashU provides integrated operational, infrastructure, planning, and facility services that support the university’s mission of excellence in education, research, patient care, and community engagement. Scheduled Hours 40 Job Description Project Managers support and lead facilities and capital projects from early planning through completion, ensuring alignment with departmental project delivery processes and institutional priorities. Serving as the owner’s representative, they coordinate construction activities and designs, gather and refine project requirements, and maintain thorough documentation throughout the project lifecycle. Primary Duties & Responsibilities Organize and facilitate project meetings, monitor budgets and schedules, ensure compliance with applicable codes, regulations, and institutional standards. Communicate effectively with stakeholders, provide guidance on architectural and building systems, and resolve issues to support successful project outcomes. As project complexity increases, take on broader oversight, integrate input from campus partners, and recommend effective solutions that balance quality, schedule, and institutional goals. Working Conditions Job location/working conditions: Normal office environment. Physical effort: typically sitting at desk or table, repetitive wrist, hand, or finger movement, ability to move to on‑ and off‑campus locations. Equipment: office equipment. Education Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree or combination of education and/or experience may substitute for minimum education. Certifications / Professional Licenses No specific certification/professional license is required for this position. Work Experience Architectural Design, Design/Build, Renovation, Space Planning, and/or Construction Management – 3 years. Preferred: Higher Education, Medical School, Healthcare, or Facilities Planning and Project Management – 5 years. Driver’s License Not required. Grade G13 Salary Range Base pay is commensurate with experience. The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by qualifications, performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade, and department budget.
