Job Type Full-time Summary Under general direction, the Speech and Language Pathologist is responsible for providing speech and language assessment and therapy of students pursuant to the Individualized Family Service Plan, Individual Education Plan, or Interim Individual Education Plan. The role participates in the consultative process with parents and team members. Essential Duties And Responsibilities Provide speech and language assessment and evaluation to determine student’s developmental level and needs. Analyze test results and prepare written summary for Early Intervention, CPSE, CSE, and other regulatory, referring, or oversight organizations. Plan and conduct speech and language interventions in accordance with established goals. Implement testing procedures to evaluate and monitor student progress as required by the appropriate regulatory agency. Provide written report of results to EI/CPSE/CSE. Assess oral motor development and ability to intake food orally. Develop a treatment plan appropriate to identified disabilities. Keep abreast of latest alternative communication techniques. Implement appropriate utilization of AAC devices. Provide in‑service training regarding utilization of AAC devices and techniques. Maintain daily and monthly attendance records and progress notes. Provide therapy progress reports to parents/guardians and appropriate team members. Meet and communicate with parents/guardians regularly in writing or verbally. Participate in team meetings and case conferences as required. Ensure individuals receive services appropriate to their needs and consistent with educational goals and regulatory requirements. Participate in Initial Evaluation and Intake processes. Complete all required documentation in a timely and accurate manner. Provide supervision to students and CFY’s as assigned. Perform other related duties as requested. Qualifications Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English. Good interpersonal skills to interact effectively with employees, coworkers, consumers, their families, other programs, and outside contacts. Maintain strict confidentiality at all times. Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks. Good organizational and time‑management skills. Good oral and written communication skills. Knowledge of Assistive Technology, Augmentative Communication, Picture Exchange Communication, and manual sign language preferred. Proficiency with personal computers and electronic devices. Ability to provide therapeutic intervention in a school program or a student’s home. Ability to analyze problems and determine corrective actions. Availability Monday‑Friday, 8 a.m. – 3 p.m. Education And/Or Experience Master’s Degree in Speech and Language Pathology. One year of prior speech‑therapy experience preferred. License/Certification Current NY State license in Speech and Language Pathology. ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competency required. NYSED certification as a Teacher of Speech and Hard of Hearing (TSHH) is mandated. For bilingual therapists: NYSED TSSH Certification with Bilingual Extension. Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) candidates will be supervised. Compensation Compensation: $47.28 per hour + $1,500 sign‑on bonus + industry‑leading benefits.
